Risky Business.

The Howl is definitely under the risky category. So we fit in naturally. It was a popular costume, but I'm gonna go ahead and say.. we rocked it best. & I had a blast.

(gypsy, tom cruise, wendy peffercorn from the sandlot)

So, were kind of a big deal.. Hate us for it.

If you didn't know.. I FREAKING LOVE MY FRIENDS.

Rickety House Loves Owls.

We had a little roommate Halloween party. There were cupcakes, caramel fun, pumpkins, and friendships. Many benefitted from our homemaking skills and we loved every minute of it! The one to the left was my very favorite creation which was promptly gobbled up cuz they were too yummy. By the end of the night I had a massive sugar headache which obviously means the Halloween roommate bonding time was a success. Here are some examples of me & my roommates little guys! Enjoy.

Ps. They were freaking delish as well, just so ya know..

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Be My Thrill.

I haven't posted for ten years. literally.

okay not literally but I feel as though it has been so long! friendship.

This is it, I have been a busy girl! Here is my life for the passed week slash awesome weekend!

After my morning workout I decided to get a treat. On my drive home I always pass Temptation Cupcakes and I always wanted to check it out. So I got this little guy and brought him home to enjoy. Pupkin chocolate chip with buttercream frosting? It was as heavenly as it sounds and which led to this...
The End. Now, I am forever fighting the craving to get another one. I've done myself in. (It was definitely worth it)

Second on the agenda of my great weekend was the Mobile dance party. Basically Paul (being paul and buys crazy things that all of us mock but secretly enjoy) bought a HUGE 80's inspired stereo and carried it all over campus knocking on doors and ambushing innnocent freshman with our crazy dance party antics. I might have ridden the bull, and possibly could have taken advantage of a strangers bathroom in the midst of a house crash. (judge me for it).

Yep. I love my friends. Love this night.

Saturday. oh waht a Saturday it was. Was the first saturday I have had off probably since the school year started. So obviously I had to take advantage of it and make it totally awesome. Cue Salt Lake trip with one of my best friends to shop, and see a great concert. The Weepies to be exact! Opening was Joe Pug. He played the Harmonica (drooling) and the guitar. The band included an accordion, another guitar and a cello. It was pretty folking awesome. :) Please take the time and enjoy his song playing to your right >> it is my favorite of his.
After was the Weepies. Honestly, nothing I can write will do them justice. Here is some vids I took from my phone so sorry for the low quality.

Pretty much they were amazing. so chill and talented. It was a great show and the stateroom was a perfect location. Never been there before but I liked the scene cuz everyone seemed to really enojy the music. Maybe it had something to do with being 21 and over and they were jsut contently drunk.. who knows. But I have a deep love for them even more. Check out their new album Be My Thrill.

That was pretty much it. So great. I am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. Love you friends. Enjoy this day, snow and all, and know you are being thought of and loved. Till the next adventure, friendship!

Happy Fall!

Ask me what I am doing right now.

Okay, I'll tell you.

Eating Yummy Caramel Apples! Mmm Mmm!

They are leftovers from lasts nights little treat night! Since most people who have lives and dont work two jobs, left for a grand adventue for Fall Break.

(one day in my eyes does not constitute a "break" but let it happen)

Anywho, I decided to have a little friendship fall roundup last night and baked some delish pumpkin choco chip cookies and Cortez brought some caramel and apples! It was just a fun little get together but I got to play some of my fave music in the background, consisting of Angus & Julia Stone, The Weepies, First Aid Kit, & Sigur Ros. We had lots of yummy treats and catch up time and got to unwind afterwards with an episode or two of Arrested Development. Most importantly we weren't dwelling in an unadventurous quiet friday night wishing we could quit our jobs and move to a distant land. Gotta love friendship.

Also, follow up from the last post, I might have popped into Bath & Body Works yesterday...
I might have bought Vanilla Bean Noel & Twisted Peppermint Lotions.. Woops! :) They didn't have any VBN wallflowers yet or you better believe my house would be marinating in it. My fish would have it in their bubbles and then they would be so very happy. ( They seem to be sick, and to be honest I am bored of them, so I, chelsea babbitt, fish lover extremist, kinda want them just to die since all they do is hide in the sunken pirate ship. & I can get more who are more fun and swim around so I can love them. hate me for it.)

Anyways, Working again tonight! && let's say it all together now

NEW FLOORSET!!!

The Biggest Floorset of the Year is upon us tonight friends!! That means all the new soft scarves, mittons, hats, sweaters, winter boots, corduroy jeggings, moccasins, coats, fluffy sweaters & all that comes along with it are all at your fingertips monday! These are my favorites that I am super excited to FINALLY have out of the back and out on the floor where I can pine after every minute of the day!

Can't decided whether to get red or gray..but really, this is the softest thing I have ever secretly hugged in the back room.

This is Huge & forest green. Thus, the basis of it's appeal.

Warm. Soft. & Lilac.

I like the neck on this. But I probably wont buy it, cuz I have 12,543,985 hoodies..

I never used to shop that much at ae, but for some reason now that I work there I have noticed they have some cute stuff! Could it be the 50% new floorset employee discount? It's possible. Is it because new warm clothes are the only thing that make the approaching winter bearable? Huge possibility too. Who knows, all I know is that I like it, and I need to work more to buy all this crap. Happy Fall!

A few of my favorite things..

So it came onto the Cache Valley Mall shelves on Monday. Is it heaven in a bottle? Understatement. Can you only get it Oct & Nov because it sells out so quickly? Yes. Did I happen to get the last body lotion last year in all of Boise stores? Yes. (I might have gone to three stores) Will I buy an absurd amount this friday after work? YES!! I am beyond excited! YUM!

It really is sad how much joy these little guys bring me. If you only knew, you would probably say, "chels babe, maybe you should try a new hobby or something..." but even the little mask is the cutest thing! Love seasonal cookies. YUM!

Another like you. Itunes it, youtube it, pandora it, whatevs. Just get it in your ears. It's a cute one.

Not so favorite things:
getting addicted to the OC today and wishing I was married to Seth Cohen all over like I was 17 again.
Seeing myself on the toilet posted to Lori's Blog. (Note to self, blackmail pics are not a joke to Lori, she will use them without mercy, therefore must crush any opportunity for them. the end)
But, life goes on I guess. :) My life is great, I love Elder Packer, and I can't wait till I get thrown a friggen bone one day. Oh, and did I mention I love my roommates and our new Puppy? pics to come of him I am sure of it.

Count your blessings & tie together all the little joys that bring your life happiness! Even if they are just little guys like puppies, cookies and yummy lotion!
Love.

The Preface.

The artist is the creator of beautiful things.
To reveal art and conceal the artist is art's aim.
The critic is he who can translate into another manner or a new material his impression of beatiful things.

The highest as the lowest, form of criticism is a mode of autobiography.
Those who find ugly meaning in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming. This is a fault.

Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated.
For these there is hope.
They are the elect to whom beautiful things mean only beauty.

There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written. That is all.

The moral life of man form part of the subject matter of the artist, but the morality of art consists in the perfect us of the imperfect medium. No artist desires to prove anything. Even things that are true can be proved.

No artist has ethical sympathies. An ethical sympathy in an artist is an unpardonable mannerism of style.
Thought and language are to the artist instruments of an art.

Vice and virtue are to the artist materials for an art.

All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the sureface do so at their peril.

Those who read the symbol do so at their own peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors.
Diversity of opinion about a work of art shows that the work is new, complex, and vital.
When critics disagree the artist is in accord with himself.

We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire it, The only excuse for making a useless thing is that one admires it intensely.
All art is quite useless.

- Oscar Wilde
"The Picture of Dorian Gray"

Yes, I am excited to read the rest of this book, just picked it up last night. & Yes, I finally finished the Alchemist. My thoughts on it coming whenever I have time next..

ALSO
R.I.L. today said this to me. Chels, I'm glad you came cuz this message was intended for you.

You're going to be okay. Trust Him, He knows what you need right now. Keep doing what He would have you do, and You will be okay, cuz He keeps His promises. Build your life around righteous principles. Stop worrying and just trust.

So Great. It was wonderful. I love that He takes such good care of me to give me this little message.

Happy weekend my friends, be safe and ctr.

Gravity.

Today I downloaded a lot of the songs I had on my comp before it went A wall and crashed.

John Mayer. Any given Thursday (his live album) yes please. deep love.
The Weepies - Hideaway & Say I Am You
The Moldy Peaches
& new additions
Weezy's Drop The World (clean version thank you)
Sean Fournier - Another Like You
Sara Bareilles - Gravity (story of my friggen life)

Been playing my guitar 24/7 these days & loving it.

Anyways these passed couple of days I have felt so out of it. it's weird, like I'm not in my body, like I'm outside of it watching from a place. Do you ever feel like this or am I losing it? Today it was hardcore. I think I need to start going to bed earlier. That's all.

Something always brings me back to you
It never takes too long
No matter what I say or do
I still feel you here 'til the moment I'm gone

You hold me without touch
You keep me without chains
I never wanted anything so much
Than to drown in your love and not feel your rain

Set me free, leave me be
I don't wanna fall another moment into your gravity
Here I am and I stand so tall
I'm just the way I'm supposed to be
But you're on to me and all over me

You loved me 'cause I'm fragile
When I thought that I was strong
But you touch me for a little while
And all my fragile strength is gone

Set me free, leave me be
I don't wanna fall another moment into your gravity
Here I am and I stand so tall
I'm just the way I'm supposed to be
But you're on to me and all over me

I live here on my knees
As I try to make you see
That you're everything I think I need
Here on the ground

But you're neither friend nor foe
Though I can't seem to let you go
The one thing that I still know
Is that you're keeping me down
You're keeping me down

You're on to me, on to me and all over me

Something always brings me back to you
It never takes too long

"Gravity" Sara Bareilles
& yes I am learning this on the guitar. yippee!
