Needham Jewlers 3k Please!!

Okay so this past weekend was the highly anticipated Needham Jewlers Race for Diamonds 3k! Once upon a time I got this flyer in the mail that said there was a race where if you had the best costume you win $2000!!!!! (Later to find out it was in store credit towards a diamond) but i mean diamonds are still worth something you know!! So, of course in regular crazy fashion Paul Jones talked me into it & from then on it was our destiny to win. We got our friends to join in along the way and it made it that much more fun! So we both worked our hands to the bone for two weeks & this is what came to pass on the big day!

Yay! The day has arrived! Matt Bury, (running for Paul Jones b/c he got real sick a couple of days before) Me, Kayde, and Lori!!

These are my friends Kayde and Lori. They were a can of soup and a bowl & it said in sickness & in health! Cute huh!
Ps. The girl that beat my costume is behind them. It's a sheet with bows... It probly took her a good hour to make. Bitter? me? Nooo...

Hi this is my Wedding cake!
Getting in the Zone!

2 minutes into running & it broke a little haha poor wedding cake!

Sometimes running in an giant Campbells Can is a little painful.

Matt Bury almost ran this girl over! Haha this is serious people!!

Once upon a time my cake became a death trap! It is falling apart and stabbing me at this point! Notice the piece of wood hanging out the bottom haha

Wow, I love my friends!

Matt Bury running his heart out! What a champ!

Two words : Shin splints

R.I.P. - My beautiful wedding cake costume :(

And the winner is.. Paul Jones aka Matt Bury aka Paul Jones!!

"Paul Jones! Look at the camera!" haha Paul Jones to Matt Bury..
"Just put it there in the trunk.." hahah Matt Bury! Oops I mean .. Paul Jones..
Did I mention I love my friends?

And the academy award goes to... Matt Bury as Paul Jones in The Race For Diamonds!

We didn't win $2000 but we won Costa Vida coupons! Somehow it will balance out in the Universe :)

Even though we didnt win, it was still so much fun and totally worth it! We're already planning for next year if you have any ideas let me know!

Thursday.

I just found out my Dad is going to Afghanistan for a year or more. He's taking a job there. He leaves this Thursday for training in virginia & then Colorado. He's due to go to Iraq in January/February.
I'm going to miss Thanksgiving and Christmas with him. Also white water rafting this summer, seeing him working on the lawn on Saturdays, and tailgating BSU games together. The new boat will go unused and i'll have worries in the back of my mind but hopefully it will turn out to be a positive experience for him. All I can do is pray until he comes back. Please keep him in your prayers if you can. Much love to all!
